My question and concern is about sexting in the chat and over PM/DM. While all broadcasters are age verified the users are not and even if someone buys tokens there is no way to know if the card information is verified to be the user. most people using the site want to sext while they are watching. Are we protected from minors joining the site and coming to our rooms and engaging with us or us engaging with them (i usually assume the users are of age and not LE or something like that trying to bait us into doing or saying something that will get us in trouble later because they were not forthcoming in who they are or who they are pretending to be). I am asking this because i came across an article that said we can be libel if the person we are talking to is under age or LE pretending to be underage without verifying who they are, sometimes asking for an age comes up sometimes it doesn’t, but i assumed the disclaimer’s we all check before logging in protected us, and everyone on the platform says they are 18 or over when you ask. But now i am curious if those disclaimers doesn’t protect us. Every broadcaster will proactively ask users if they like what they are looking at or what they want to see or do to get the user involved and excited… which can lead to tipping. i do my best to kick and ban users that are doing or saying things that are questionable , but you really just don’t know what’s going on on the other end.

We totally understand where you are coming from regarding this matter, we have all personally seen teens that are under the age of 18 which they are claiming to be on the site.

Whenever this happens it is advised by Chaturbate to ban the user from your room immediately and to report the user via email directly to support@chaturbate.com so they can proactively ban the users from the site.

IF a broadcaster see’s that the user is claiming to be under the age of 18 and does NOT kick / ban the user from their room but talks to them in public chat or worse in PM (which Chaturbate does monitor), the broadcaster can and does receive a warning / ban. As they are engaging with a minor.

There is always a chance that a user could be underage, it’s only when the user actually states the age where Chaturbate clamps down hard on the user or broadcaster depending on the situation.

If you are ever unsure about a users age it is always best to bring it up in conversation somehow so that you have a general idea of the person who you talking to. A lot of broadcasters will have a good idea how certain ages will talk & their experience will come into play when chatting.

If you have an issue with being protected by Chaturbate regarding the ages of people that come into your room, we would advise to speak to Chaturbate regarding your concerns. This hopefully will be handled by someone higher up the line than just support, but if you only receive a reply from support you can ask them for an official answer by someone higher up the line (example: Support manager etc).
